This was my Renderosity entry for the TG2 contest last month (September).
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Very nice! I like the lighting, the clouds also the deep snow and the very realistic rocks. My only criticism is the size of the "tree", it doesn't fit with my perception of the scale of the scene: it's too small. How big is the tree meant to be?
Regards
Kevin.

Beatiful rocks and rays!  The clouds and snow look a little too smooth, though.

Wha? Are we looking at the same picture?
Kevin.

i am not a very big fan of the snow but everything else is juste woaaah ! nice job clico !

the clouds are really really good !

Sorry, I wasn't totally clear.  The small-scale detail is so small that for me at times it comes off as slightly large grain, and the larger stuff seems to be stretched or globbed a little bit.  I just wish there was a bit more definition.  That's just my opinion, though - take it or leave it :).  Either way it's still a very nice image - one of your best, Calico.

Thanks everyone for your comments.  The diversity of perceptions here makes it so much easier to learn.  I appreciate the appreciation and yet know I have more to think about.  So much of this seems to be perceptions sometimes, as far as what is liked or not liked.  I'll never forget looking at a real picture and wondering why the person didn't do the fractals right and then realized it was a real picture.  OMG.   ;D

Actually, this is a good observation.  This is from a modified ice / snow clip file.   ;D

Yes I like this one  :)  The composition and lighting work well.

This has been mentioned; the edge blends on the deep snow/ice look a little strange although I think they would be less noticeable without the tree giving them scale.    Without the tree your mind would have just made the snow a couple of inches thick and moved on.  ???
Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast.

Thanks for the praise and reflections.  I see what you mean.  The tree changes the perspective quite a bit and I didn't see that until now.  Cool.
