Smoothing filter shader scale?

I thought it was in meters when i tried it here and there a little.
In my last project it looks as it is more kind of a power? Right?

I searched around but could not find anything about it.

The scale is measured in metres, although the exact behaviour is not precisely defined so you might see some variation depending on the shader and its settings. And most shaders don't support it at all.

If you have a setup where it seems radically different from this, I'd like to take a look at it.

The setup for my last animation does have around 9 merge nodes animated in time between different scene parts (with much more nodes in them).
I placed the smoothing filter in the last stage of all these (before the planet node input),
just to test if i could get rid of some animation noise in a faster way then using higher AA. It looked quite hard. Curious.

I will send you the file Matt.

The unwanted smoothing is happening in the group called "Besinci_yuzey_Group 05_2100__2700".

It's caused by the use of "noise stretch XYZ". The noise stretch is applied after the noise scales have been filtered, at least in the current version, so a smooth scale of 100 is affecting features which are not 100 metres across but much larger.
