Apologies for "necroing" an old thread but I finally took the plunge and got a new rig.

Ryzen 9 3900X
64 Gb DDR4 3200Mhz Ram

Full results on the Benchmark page.
The benchmark test scene now renders in 6m 40s which is a definite improvement to my last score of 13m 44s. Just 20s over being twice as fast. I had hoped for more to be honest. Twice as many cores all running at a higher clock and twice as much ram I was looking for something closer to the 5m mark.

I've not put any OC results in but with some small tweaks (apparently the Ryzens 9's don't OC well, they are already pretty optimal) I have got the scene render time down to 6m 20s. (down to 6m 05s now :) )

Good to know if I need a new machine. Now render along and post!

Time to update your signature then! :D But it's a very nice improvement, and as you can see you're now 4th on the overall benchmark list. An impressive achievement for a $500 CPU! I can't wait to see what the 3950X can do, given it's got 4 more cores.

You should be able to edit it by clicking your name at the top of the forums, then click Forum Profile. You'll see the signature field there. Or here: https://planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php?action=profile;area=forumprofile;u=3 Let me know if not!

Yeah I can see the signature field in the Summary but no way to edit it there and in the Forum profile there is no signature field to edit.

That's very strange. As far as I can see you should have the needed permissions. I'll try to check from a regular user account...

Edit: just checked with a regular user account and I could edit the signature. Can you try again?

I'm probably just doing something fundamentally wrong but I'm still not seeing the option. Can't change  (or add) avatar ... either
Hmm post preview is not working either

AhAH! I think I found it !!!
I had to click on the username (cyphyr) at the very top of the page and then select "Forum Profile" NOT "Profile"

Ah! Yes, I'll agree that wording is confusing. Glad you found it. And can you now change/add an avatar as well?

For a workhorse (as opposed to a hobbyist machine) that is quite an improvement, isn`t it?
You can now render even more assets in bigger scenes than before in the same time as before  :)

After reading your message I remembered I had not run the new benchmark on my box.
I did tonight and I find myself in a comfortable spot. This hobbyist machine still handles the scene satisfyingly fast. Phew!

Thanks for posting. I have no clue about the Ryzen cpus.
