Hello
I've tried the frist time to create a nice water vortex, which we call in Germany a "Strudel". I rendered different versions of my strudel.
One with blue ocean water, another one with green ocean water. Then I had the idea to bring in more action.
So I placed a small cloud in the center of the vortex to simulate some water vapour in the center.

Both water colours were then blended together in Adobe Poposhop to get the final water color which I desired in the rendering.
Finally I rendered a clay version, to gain more depth and detail (with layer mode multiply) in the final composition.

All different layers are finally blended into my "Strudel" image

The picture is not bad at all, but I always like to improve my pictures if possible.
So ideas, suggetions and constructive hints to make it more realistic are welcome.

Cool. The only thing I can suggest is make more shadows to get a more dramatic vortex. Lower sun or so. It may also be nice to stretch waves (and foam patterns perpendicularly) for some wind effect. I don't know if it would work to make the water so transparent that you can see the 'tube' of the vortex going down....never tried that part of it.

Lovely; but I'd have a fishing boat caught and going down the tube myself. A really well done whirl pool in any case.
something borrowed,
something Blue.

Yes the idea to create a transparent effect could provide more dynamic.
I had in mind to create a scenery with some rocks and stones and some swirls and vortexes in between them, I never created such a scene?
But the idea with transparency is nod bad Dune!
