Hi Does anyone have any images they could share of an imported object using the meatless PBR work flow ie the default shader options? if possible something with multiple parts with one showing diffuse and one showing metal. Just wondering how convincing it is

You'll want to use Path Tracer with metallics for true PBR Materials support. I'll try and make a example for you if I remember. Though here is The Mandalorian Razor Crest rendered with PBR materials in PT.

So. When you're doing PBR metal materials you'll want to set roughness at 1, and metalness at 1 with the maps to be the most accurate to them. But you can always change this. Say it's too sharp at roughness 1, you could increase to 2 or 3.

Additionally, there is a very convenient PBR Node generator by @aokcub  here: https://incscenes.hateblo.jp/entry/2020/05/31/021209 (topic here: https://planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,27943.msg277865.html )

Here is an example of Metal007 from AmbientCG ( https://ambientcg.com/view?id=Metal007 ) on a shader ball with Index of Refraction set to 10, and Roughness/Metalness at 1 with Displacement at 0.01. Texture UV Scale is 2 (larger than normal as I noticed diffuse-less has tighter roughness and wanted to visualize it better. This is likely the result of diffuse multipliers). I've uploaded the project as well without maps.

This is what I'm working on. I want my Dalek, to look more metallic places (also need to work out why part of it is missing from the obj file

The Default Shader has fresnel on by default which may muddle metallic shine. So if you just added a default shader it may still have fresnel.

Thanks, that was Cynon 'par' version. Just upgraded to 4.5, so still testing etc. Have managed to work out render layers, so I can set everything except the Dalek to Hold out, then try to combined in photoshop, so I don't have to use the path tracer for everything

Check your geometry. Terragen won't render ngons, so make sure all the polys are either tris or quads. Sometimes flipped normals can create issues, too.

If I can ask, how are you creating your texture and metalness maps?
