Question about Prepass and Displacements
November 28, 2007, 01:16:05 PM
If a render goes to a shut-down error during the prepass stage and there are no clouds, is this likely because of extreme terrain displacements or problems with terrain displacements?
So this is Disney World. Can we live here?

They may contribute to the problem, yes. Reducing GI detail and quality may help. Reflective surfaces seem to be the most common way to induce this error.
The ray tracer is currently being improved and this should eliminate the problem.
