Well, you know, spanish is like french: a latin language. Then for me it is a very simple one! Same thing for italian: even if I never studied it at school, I can understand it thanks to my knowledge of spanish.
On the opposite, english is a completely different language. For french people, english takes far more time to learn than spanish or italian.

PS: Und ich ein bisschen Deutsch auch!
