How do I color the leaves of a tree ?
November 11, 2020, 02:23:19 PM
I have added an OBJECT (a single tree) to my scene, but I cannot figure out how to change the color of the leaves. It seems to just default to green. I have the preview box checked, and the color I want, but it does not render that color.

I usually don't use the tint features, but create a new coloured leaf based on the texture. You can convert the texture to greyscale, and colour it with add multiplied colour, and multiply colour with a power fractal shader or constant colour shader.
Here is a quick example project I built for you that demonstrates this:

Playing with the Leaf Colour Mixer's Colour Offset will allow you to control how much is autumn coloured, and how much is green. Negative offsets being more green, where positive being more autumn coloured.
Feel free to use the tree. It's not spectacular unfortunately mainly due to Tree It's leaf count limits. This is 3 layers of leaves on this tree, and not even remotely dense, and anymore layers and the program crashes. Lol
