High all.
I am creating a river its pretty close to camera and gently travels right to left. Very subtle no waves just a fair bit of wind patch effect.
I have used a transform input shader to create the main movement but this just looks very un natural and 2 dimensional. I am trying to get some secondary
disturbance/ripple to the overall motion and have tried combining a power fractal with the water shader using a merge node but the results are pretty poor.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You could put a surface layer with color disabled and the displacement you like behind the water shader.

Nice one Hannes.
I will give it a go. It was you that did that awesome rippling stream with those lovely bits of froth and turbulence right?
Person standing on the bank if I remember?
