A new thread, as the other one is getting old :P

Big stones is a pop of polyspheres, btw. Couldn't get nicely rounded stones by using fake stones.

Love the small colored rocks in the stream! The ratio of white water to clear flowing water is very realistic. This is the best of your recent streams (so far)!

This one using water plane? I'm still curious how you were doing the reflection ones. I gave it a quick go but quickly felt lost.

Yes, double layer. For the single layer you have to mask out the stones from the reflective water, which is awkward.

It's not a very wild stream, so wetness is kept to a low max. Hardly visible, I admit.

Could you elaborate the problem you talked with Jordan above about transparency? Not sure about the problem you talked.

There's not really a problem. I'm making one ;D 
1. You can make a stream in 2 layers, but then it's hard to make nicely rounded preferably evenly sized stones (needed to get decent warping of the water plane above it).
2. You can make a stream in one layer, but then it's not transparent, so you have to fake it with streambottom colors (possible, but you won't have real depth or refraction), and then it's a bit hard to mask out the stones to be kept dry (the higher ones above the water level).

I'm getting towards what I was after, but can't take it any further than this. Unfortunately (and expectedly) TG is not like Realflow :P Just an experiment, so don't pay attention to the meagre landscape. The stream isn't even warped.

Something else I want to know if there's a way to make a stepped gradient. Much like strata, but with smooth edges. For rapids. But I think it'll need a PS painted image map to begin with. I know I can make one or two with smooth steps and X to scalar, sort of, but I want a way that has multiple steps (preferably variable by PF) without needing stacking of a lot of nodes.

I have absolutely no idea, but your stream looks great. I love the foam around the stones.

And now with RT reflection and subdiv at 0.5. Took quite a bit longer.

Really cool!

...and somehow it has a special charme especially because of its experimantal status. The monk and the plain bushes population and the straight stream give it an interesting surreal touch!
