I had a 300 frames animation running. In the morning it was done, and everything looked good. Then I decided to render a small add on animation from frame 234 to 300 (Some exhaustion for a spaceship).
Unfortunately I used the same file, modified it and forgot to set a different name and output location. The rendering of this additional animation didn't take long. Twelve minutes.
So, within twelve minutes 66 frames, that took the whole night to render were overwritten. After calming down and shouting nasty words I decided to request a feature. Please hear my plea!
I'd just love to see a simple
warning when I'm trying to overwrite existing files. Something like: "The files you want to create already exist. Do you really want to overwrite them? Hannes? Honestly?"
Something like that. Actually it's the first time, that this happened to me. And I know, I will survive this.
But imagine something like this would happen, when your working for someone, and you'll have to explain that to your boss...
