An attempt at making a burn scar leftover from a wildfire, and playing with roads for the first time in a while.

Looks good and a very good idea you come up with!
Snow is one thing, but burn scars are the real stuff.

Maybe its a good idea to create a soft fademask towards an inner circle towards the unburned trees.
Here they stick around in full green mode in midst off all the totally burned down ones in black.

So a fade from black to a subtle brown and then here and there some green surviors would be more realistic?
I just don't knw, there is more research necessary to answer this question in reality.

Good example is here....

Wait, are you calling me out? Lol :P

To add to those suggestions, maybe also the centre areas are thinned out. More heat, more trees toppling or actually just burning through. These areas the tree often evaporates all it's water, and then just burns away like firewood, but more accelerated due to the high concentrations of pitch/sap.

Thanks guys, good suggestions.  Though for the record WAS, I think your erosion snow is cool too.  ;)  I've been messing around with some scenes using that, but haven't finished anything yet.

Mighty good work - and more than I could accomplish.  I like the concept.
They're all wasted!

That road really puts the puts a photo finish to this amazing landscape. Very realistic!
The more I use Terragen, the more I realize the world is not so small.
