I aimed for subtle otherness,
used:
-cloud fractal as water volume density
-that distorted voronoi thing I came up with about a hundred years ago for the stromatolithes
-A jupiter map that does not show at all
-a population each, same seed, of distorted spheres and Wallis ferns for the jellyfish things
-Daniil Kamperovs erosion, free version
Gigapix AI for a 2x upscale

Here is the pure TG version
stromato1 by JT, on Flickr

Based on that:

using the same fractal for big displacement ans as input for the distorted voronoi fine displacement proved interesting.

Really cool! I love those unusual images.

When I see unusual formations like that it makes me think there's something alive under them.

Love your water ! Cool formations on the shore !

Mahnmut

Thanks!
yes, the formations are supposed to be some kind of reef or stromatolithe.
The hard part is to combine the crazy shapes with high realism, still working on that.
