I've been using Terragen on and off for years, but never tried my hand at making an animation.  I'm thinking about a very short one from of the the scenes here, but I'm not sure how to go about it.  Can anyone recommend some good guides to, say, wind-blown plants, waves, etc?  I've got about a month to pull this off if I want to get it included in someone else's project.

Hannes is the one to answer this, but I hope he hasn't vaporized as well....

Hi ares2101,

You'll find a lot of information about animation, waves, and blowing plants right here on this forum.  For example, here's a really good one for waves:  https://planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,24752.0.html

You can apply mesh deformations to 3D geometry via the parameters found under the Mesh Modifiers tab of an object in your scene.  For example, you can assign a power fractal shader with animated parameters to the Mesh displacer input, or you can use MDD files.  Alternatively, you can use object sequences.  The online docs for the Object Reader node goes into greater depth about these features: https://planetside.co.uk/wiki/index.php?title=OBJ_Reader
