Hi all ! I went to the Yukon about 30 years ago and decided to do something that might look a bit like it.
The terrains are all native fractal from Terragen. The plants are from various sources, XFROGS, 3D-shaker and CG trader. There are about 50M instances in this one and not one crash. This software is stable. Renders at 4000PX and detail at 7, AA 7 took about 24 hours on my latest PC with the AMD processor. Not bad ! I will be rendering from different spots in this one. The 3 included images are from the same spot with different lighting and atmospherics. Thanks for viewing and appreciate any comments. Take care and have a great day !

Nicely done. Looks like you have a good memory!

I think the first one is my favorite . . . love that pearl-colored sky and raking light. Can't say much except perhaps the waves on the lake might be a too large. Did you use the path tracer? Maybe try increasing the translucency of the leaves/needles on the pine trees to open up those shadows.

These are nitpicks though. Great work.

I agree with Steve, my favorite is the first one too. Great sky, very subtle. Realistic mountains and greens. You can also try reducing the opacity of the needles to something like 0.7 or 0.8 to get more light between them (anything above 0.5). Or increase the soft clip effect to 1.5 or so in tonemap (render). Gives you just a little less 'shadow blacks'.
