I have an old, but still quite powerful laptop that I would like to use for rendering; it's in a spare room next to the bedroom. The laptop has a cooling fan that sounds like a Harrier Jump Jet at night. So I would like to be able to render on it in the evenings, and shut it down at night. Resume mode may well work, but I reckon the ability to stop a render, and even transfer the data over my network to a different machine, would be excellent.
