Alpine's Spring
March 14, 2008, 03:04:28 PM
The spring is here and most of the snow that disappear on these mountains for the summer is gone.
I was just testing the "alpine fractal", but it got a little more interesting and I went from there. The "alpine fractal" make some very nice mountains and it is also amazingly slow. I hope it will be faster in the future and it would be cool with some more options too.
I hope you enjoy it.

Picturesque. A bit too sharp of mountains for my personal taste, but this is pretty nice overall.
So this is Disney World. Can we live here?

This is great. I've spent most of the day looking at (synthesised) mountains, and these compare pretty favourably.

Great work! The clouds look very nice and the scale of the scene overall is well done. I have a little problem with the terrain itself - it seems like there should be more detail. Other than that, though, it really looks fantastic.

Good idea, good Pov, but the image is unrealistic for my liking!

It almost looks like and illustration that would go with a LOTR book. Which is not necessarily bad. I think it could use some detail on the terrain, but it definitely has promise.

Thank you guys.
I agree that it could use some more details.

If this was slightly more "Watercolourey" it could be an Alan Lee illustration.
(This is no bad thing) Very nice work, like this a lot.

The clouds are very nice and the terrain works very well! I think the lighting could use a change, and the mountains could use some more detail via texture and color. This would make the image sing!

I agree with NWSenior and Moodflow. I think these are the most important things which could improve.
I like the painterly/illustrative style of the image.
Nice pov and clouds as well.
