Hiya Everyone
Is there a specific reason to install TG2 to C:\Program Files ? The reason I ask is I am setting up my new system and had saved the entire Planetside Software folder to my 500Gb USB Drive and I seem to be able to run it fairly well from there. Am rendering as we speak, and I havent installed it on this computer yet....just copied to the USB. It does seem to be a bit slower than I expected for a brand new computer. Athlon 4400+64bit dual core with 3 Gb RAM...should be smokin' and it doesn't seem to be.. ...

No Bobby, it better to dump it out of there as I like to share that directory. Last year or so, I've worked with a separate directory outside of TG2 for all models... well everything a tgd needs, including tgd's, clips, the whole ball of wax, mostly because TG is so picky about paths. If the next upgrade is a bit different, all the paths were screwed up..

We've tried to make TG2 as flexible as possible about where it's installed. It should be fine to either install to another drive or run a copy of the program files from another drive. It is often possible to take a copy of the program files and run it on another computer without running the installer, if the other computer has everything TG2 needs, but if in doubt use the installer on the destination computer.

Preferences files (and a copy of the license key file if you have one) are saved in user profiles on whichever computer TG2 runs on, but they are only saved if they are not there already. TG2 works fine without any preferences files.

Thanks Matt...installed it to the default in any case as that way everything knows where everything else is...nice of y'all to build flexibility in tho...thanks for that as well.. ...
