Rather than wrestle with this anymore, I'm hoping to put this out here and get a good answer.  How do I make these clouds to have more volume?

I find that giving cloud depth a good 1500 for cumulous clouds and cloud density a healthy 8 gives some cool clouds if you use Perlin Billows in the tweak noise tab of the density fractal. Puffy clouds look best with either Perlin Billows, ridges or mix 1.

Don't know if you've seen this before but if you look about half way down at Cloud density, you can see that it makes the most difference to cloud volume if you control it with density and edge sharpness to avoid the clouds looking like something similar to the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man.

Thanks, PG.  Here is what I have so far...

maybe try with more edge sharpness and less density, saves rendertime.
thinking of like 10 sharpness and about 1 density
perfection is not when there's nothing more to add, it's reached when nothing more can be left out

Yeah, but for really close control use the feature scale and lead-in scale, but if you have high lead-in then make sure you don't use low smallest scale, it makes the Stay Puff clouds I was on about.

Thanks.  I'll try your idea, child@play.  PG, I think I have the feature and lead-in where I want them, but never mind not trying to mess with them again - I'll see if I need to make any changes there, too.
