Smooth the Terrain?

I've been playing around with the redirect shader a lot lately and using power fractal shaders for it seems to give very jagged results.  I know that I can change the fractal roughness and feature size and what not, but I already have a scene set up that I really like and I want to smooth the terrain without dramatically changing anything.  Is there some way to do this?  Perhaps some mathematical function/shader?

Won't smoothing the terrain dramatically change things? ;)

Try adjusting the "spike limit" and "displacement roughness" in the displacement tab (if available in your setup). That ought to give you results that are fairly faithful to the original but are smoothed a bit.

Haha thanks, you know what I mean  :P  I'll give it a try after my current render finishes.
