Here's something I've been working on for the past week, you'll have to excuse some of the colouring, jpg isn't the best for retaining quality. I'll be doing another one over the next couple of days, probably a repositioning to the area highlighted in the second image. C&C's welcomed and swiftly ignored :D

it's so hard to get the camera in the right position. Anyone know of a way that I can get the camera to the area I circled? I tried placing objects in the area and using the coordinates, even used the coordinates from the mouse cursor but both times ended up in totally the wrong position and for some reason, no clouds in sight.

Have you tried using the navigation panel to sneak up on it? I'm not sure if the 3D Preview detail is high enough to do this, but it might be worth a shot.

The only way I can do that is to reduce the settings down to almost 0, centre the area I want to move to and gradually move closer, letting the preview render a bit more detail every so often to check that I'm heading in the right direction. But it's a really long way away and when I notice that I'm off track it's usually by a long way and I don't know where the part I wanted is anymore.

You plug a Transform Shader between the Cloud Density Fractal and the Cloud Layer, you can then move the cloud layer about by typing values into the transform.  You could also try moving the camera by directly typing values into its position. Try increments of half your cloud feature scale to start with that way you shouldn't lose track of where you are.
