Have you tried this plug-in for Firefox etc ...
If you surf - Flickr, Deviantart, Youtube et-al,
you get a full screen, 3D, Itunes library experience.

I learned that the solar system is egg shaped (http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2008/07/02/dented-solar-system.html)
The world is round... so you have to use spherical projection.

Piclens, its under the science and tech section
The world is round... so you have to use spherical projection.
