hi,

i'm making a rock scene, and i want a rock texture i have. When i create a surface layer, then plug in an image map shader in the color function slot, shouldn't it use the texture? Then i have the mode on Xy or something like that, and repeat x and z. But it just makes the terrain the color of the texture, insted of applying the texture itself...

Size matters! ;D
Choose projection type "Plan Y" and increase the size to values like 1000 or more and you'll see your texture. Then adjust the size to your needs.

My best results using textures as layers is to set up the surface layer then set a "default" shaider as a child. Works quite well, set up the restraints in the parent surface layer, and you can add bump/displacement maps in the default shaider.

can you tell a green field, from a cold steel rail? a smile from a veil?
do you think you can tell?" P.F.
