I have spent another few hours trying to get the key file into the program. First I removed all the Terragen files that I downloaded last night. Then I downloaded the program (paid by check). I then downloaded the registration key (from the email)several times and put copies in (1) docs (2) plugins (3) Terragen_2.ucr (one in "generic" and one in "windows"), and UnderCarriage.ucr (one in "generics" and one in "windows") but have not been able to get the program to work. I placed a folder on the desktop and downloaded the key to the desktop folder. I was not able to drag the folder onto Terragen. When I open the START list of ALL PROGRAMS there is a PLANETSIDE SOFTWARE name showing. Clicking on it opens the choices "Terragen 2 Technology Preview (Deep)" and (2) Licence.rtf. Clicking on the first choice doesn't cause anything to happen; clicking on the second one opens the text dealing with Software License and Limited Warranty. When I click on the desktop shortcut for terragen on the screen it opens and reinstalls the program. I tried to open the program (NOT using Installer) but with C:\Documents and Settings\Howard McPherson\Desktop\Terragen\Terragen2TP5Deep199991.msi which said "...is not a valid Win32 application." Also trying to open tg2key.tgk with (instead of Microsoft Office Word which brings up nonsense text) with Terragen 2 Technology Preview leads to "C:\Documents and Settings\Howard McPherson\Desktop\tg2key.tgk is not a valid Win32 application." My laptop computer is a Dell XPS M1710 with 2 GB ram. Does anyone have any suggestions? So far the ideas from planetside directly have not worked. Thank you. Howard Mcpherson

It seems your installation-file is corrupted. Download it again from the link e-mailed to you.

Concerning your keyfile: you only have to place it in the terragen 2 installation folder, not any of its subfolders.
In my case that is: c:\program files\planetside software\terragen 2 technology preview 5\

This should really work.

Hi Howard,

As Martin says, the proper place to put your key file is in the same folder that contains your Terragen application, which is the folder that contains tgd.exe. It looks like the path Martin has suggested is the correct one, unless you have installed it somewhere else.

Have you tried putting the key file in there? From your description it sounds you've put it everywhere except the one place it's supposed to go :-). It won't work with the free version, but if you install the Deep version you downloaded and then put the key in the same folder as the newly installed tgd.exe then it should work.

Jo
