Hi,
came across this one yesterday (see attachment please).
It is one part of a model array consisting of three parts and the
other two don't show any problems whatsoever. All three were
modelled in wings3d.
To be secure i tried  "flip normals" and also rendered it at detail 1,
but no success.
I made two other versions, one five-sided without the stairs and one
ten-sided which rendered slightly better, but still had broken shadows.
The funny thing is that it rendered correct in TP2.

Oshyan

Are there quads? Has the model been fully triangulated.

#2
Yep,quads only.Like any other model i've used so far.

(refering to the models i've made that is)

j meyer

Happened again. This time the stair elements are separated from
the base part so that it's possible to render single elements to
track down the problem,at least that's what i thought, but have
a look yourself.

Oshyan

Unless I'm mistaken I believe you'll want to triangulate all your faces before export. At least give that a shot and see if it works.

I'll try that and post the results later on.

j meyer

Triangulating didn't solve it.
A bug maybe? ;)

Matt

I have seen this problem on more complex models but have not been able to fix it yet. Can you send us the simplest model you have which has this problem, along with a .tgd which renders it incorrectly?

support@planetside.co.uk or post it here.

Matt
Just because milk is white doesn't mean that clouds are made of milk.

j meyer

Yep,i'll send you a mail later today.
