Pentax photos from 104,000 feet up!

   These guys from Oklahoma State University launched a Pentax k10d DSLR on a weather balloon.
Pics are from ground level up to 104,000 ft (20 miles straight up). The camera was exposed to near-vacuum pressure,
and temperatures below -60F!  Sounds like fun!  ;D

There is a sizes/button and they zoom to (2048 x 1371)

Many thanks for posting this... that was incredible!  :o

It conjures up something I did as a kid where I stacked kite lines and flew a kite a mile high (well to a kid it was a mile high).  Technically, it was probably 500-1000 feet or so...and the pull of the wind and the weight of the line caused it to eventually snap and fly away.

I did this with those model rockets..till I set the field on fire, still it did allow nitrogen back into the soil...
The world is round... so you have to use spherical projection.
