around 7 hours of rendering all is procedural except for the space ship which was from daz3d rendered in carrara then composed in photoshop cs3 and the stars

Interesting image. The beacons are a nice touch. The space ship looks really small, though - that might be intentional, but my gut sci-fi feeling would put a spaceship larger than a radio dish, and also larger than the scale suggested by the mountains and clouds. That's completely your choice, though ;).

Is it just me, or is there a distinct Return of the Jedi influence in the design of the three dishes? The one I speak of is the one destroyed by the Rebels that provided the second Death Star with its Shield form the Forest Moon of Endor. The One (featured three times) here bears an uncanny resemblance to the aforementioned one, if not how strange! I do, however like this image it almost reminds me of some the classic book covers form the late 70's to the early 80's with just a hint of Tim White maybe.
