I really debated with myself over the lensflare but, as you can see, I went with it. There is quite a bit of postwork on this one: curves, contrast, lens flare, saturation and even a very little bit of "glow". I'm sure there will be some controversy over the lense flare but it is what it is. Maybe I'll post the version without lensflare.

I really like the composition of the scene and the distribution of the objects, even though they lack a bit of variety.

I'll kick off the controversy: I don't like the lens flare, because my eye focuses on it more than the other features of the scene (the tower, the clump of trees, etc.). Maybe backing it off would be a good compromise.

Really, I think the same thing about the lens flare. I just don't know how to do that in GIMP.  :-[

My technique in Photoshop (which should also work in the GIMP) would be to apply all of your effects except the lens flare, create a duplicate layer, apply the flare to that layer, and then play with opacity settings to get the effect you want.

That should work like a charm!

I háve noticed that in 'real life' you always have some sort of flare through the hairs around your eyes. Problem is that that kind of 'lens flare' isn't available in software like Photoshop or the GIMP. So we have to make d with these lens flares, and that's alright. But a little less pronounced would be better.

The rest of your scene looks great! Realistic lighting, and distribution of trees.
Howgh!

The trees look really good.

I like the scene and probably like it without the lens flair.  Country looks familiar, just like in the Midwestern U.S.  Good job.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

With this image you can pull off the lens flare. Looks very nice.

I think the lens flare is fine which is unusual considering how extreme it is.

Great scene!  I really like your tree distribution, but I think you may be able to take it a little further if you add a couple populations of slightly different grass clumps to break up the open areas.  The lens flare is fine, but I think it would be just as good without it.

We also need to think up better titles  ;D

You hit the nail on the head with this one! The POV is really cool, I feel like I'm flying :D
No problem with the lensflare... adds a nice touch imho.
First thing I thought about was flying in a Fokker over the landscape 8) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:RoteBaron.JPG

What's your opinion on adding a slight tilt to the right? Hehe I can hear the motor chug ;D

PS: I like to write poems and would be honored to suggest titles for those in need :-*
