Please Help

Hi Everyone,

I'm somewhat of a newbie thats getting to know Terragen and I've spent countless hours trying to figure this out. I'm using MOLA Data to project Mars DEM data into Terragen and I just can't figure this out!!! I hope that the following image that I've attached will easily display my problems.

1) For the part labeled "1," I can't seem to make the sky big enough to include the sun around the curved planet
2) For the part labeled "2," I'm using 3DEM to cut out a little block of the area I want to focus on. Upon having opened this block of terrain in Terragen, I can't seem to render it as a curved planet! Is there an easy way to render this area into a curved planet? I've tried everything from changing the planet radius to changing the "metres point spacing," with no success .

I realize the solutions to these issues may seem simple, but I'm really struggling - and I'd appreciate any help anyone has to offer  . Thank you.

It has been a long time since I have used TG 0.9, but I don't recall ever being able to create a full planet with it.  I could be wrong and maybe there is some trick that can be used, but I don't really think so.  What I would suggest is to give Terragen 2 a try as it makes this sort of thing so simple.  Just apply your texture and zoom out will pretty much do the trick.  Here's an example from TG2:

This probably isn't what you want to hear though, and perhaps someone else can chime in as well if it can be done in TG 0.9.

TG 0.9 was never designed to be able to render full planets. The curvature function exists to provide the sense of a very high camera, perhaps to simulate something like low orbit, but pushing the curvature far enough to render a planet-like view is problematic. As RArcher has said, Terragen 2 is much more capable in this regard, having support for full planets, complete with planetary atmosphere, right from the start.
