Just a very simple test to check work flow but it seems to work quite well for the moment.

I'll write a tutorial once I've ironed out some bugzz :)

The only trouble is the script was made for TG0.9 , the guy who wrote it now works for Luxology (Modo) and its no longer available. I've wrirren to him asking if the plugin can be re-distributed but so far have no response (its only been a day lol)

happy rendering

I'm helping on project right now in which most of the modelers use Lightwave. Just last night I was on the phone with a guy in Australia ironing out the bugs in a Lightwave to Terragen 2 script he made. It now works great  ;D.

Funny how things always happen at once. Do you know whether the guys in OZ plan to release the script?

I don't think he has any plans to but I can sure ask him.

That would be great if he offered this script to the public. A huge help for a lot of things!

I think the old LW2TG plugin was commercial or partly commercial. I imagine anyone who wanted to release a working script could probably charge at least a nominal (say $10) fee if they didn't want to release it for free. Considering the cost of LW anyone looking to integrate the two would probably be more than happy to pay.

I asked the writer of the LW2TG script, Mark Brown, if he was happy to release it on a no support basis and he said he was happy to do so. link here

Yeah, an updated version that worked directly with CHAN or even TGD files would be nice though.

even better... support FBX and have LW spit that out for importing into TG2!!! W()()TZ!  :รพ

Until then, if you have Nuke, you can export an FBX from LW, bring that into Nuke then export out a .chan.   It should work if you get the rotation order right.
