Hello,

here you can see my new image. It's only a very simple image and in 1280x800 it rendered only 37 minutes. I used 3 cloud layers and my ballon model.
And merry christmas to all of you :)

Very nice.  I like the clouds, the color and the point of view.  Beautiful and somewhat realistic.

Suggestion - to enhance your lighting, use Soft Shadows and maybe consider using a second sunlight that is set opposite of your main sun.  By using a second sun, you can use a small power setting for this second sun set to around .2 or .5.  Turn off the second sun's shadows.  If your first sun is 180 heading and 25 elevation, then set your second sun to 360 heading and 25 elevation.  Play with the small light values to get a realistic lighting.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

This looks indeed very nice. Like the clouds and the lighting on them. Well done!

You might try to render this next time with raytraced shadows in the atmosphere to get accurate lighting at the horizon (sun shines through terrain?).

As far as I know there's no use of using soft shadows in this image. There aren't any sharp shadows to soften, nor would it lighten up the overal terrain.

Using a second light is a good suggestion, many times use this myself with succes.
You could also try to increase the GI strength on surfaces.

Thanks for the lighting tipps - I will use them for the next images. For this image I don't have a surface... so if I optimize the lighting, everyone can the that there's nothing to see. And I didn't create a surface, because I want to get a black terrain. :)

I think the clouds are excellent - a really atmospheric sunset.

Yep, that's a great sky. You could re-render to apply ray-traced shadows in atmosphere so sun doesn't shine through land. Probably even quicker to bung it in Photoshop (or other image editor) and "Paint it Black", as Mick might say. Who's gonna know?

"We are".
"Oh no we're not".

Well, it is the panto season.

I hope I realise I don't exist before I apparently die.
