Thanks for looking! :)

OK Way to continue with this. You could render a sphere up in the middle there with an image map of a pre rendered planet.
I don't think you could get a planet in there at your scale. Thinking out loud. Looks great

Mandrake

I like the baby heightfields too, it's got texture to it..

Mandrake

Maybe something half in the page and half realistic..

Mandrake

Maybe move the node system to the left more and cut a whole or transparency to another plane behind it for an internal network node.

rcallicotte

Great.  How did you do this?  Which program?
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

dandelO

Oh, I could get a planet in there, no problem! ;) Have you seen my 'dandinO' render? http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=3187.0

There's a disabled meta-cloud in there at the moment, too. It looked ok outdoors but as soon as I brought the scene inside itself the clouds were a bit screwy. They might be added later, likewise a planet.

I suppose the 'Lake' should be round but, hey, I usually use plane objects for water anyway. ;)
There is GI in the scene, too. You can't see it on the sliders though because my signature obviously isn't a value it would accept. ;)

What do you mean, Calico? It's rendered in TG2. Can't you see the project file on the walls? Mostly all the nodes in the grey 'objects' group are the nodes and connector .tgo's :).

I made the node models in Carrara 6.
The walls are just TG2 planes skinned with screenshots of the project open in TG2.

Node network shot attached, it's laid out in much the position the scene is.

I love it !!!
great idea ! very creative ^^

Agree with seth. Very realisitc lighting!

Just noticed your name and date copy. :)

Thanks, guys! :) It was a fun one to make.

Yup, Mandrake, I just typed them in there and took the screenshot.  ;)

Very clever.  In TG2...hah   ;D  I believed you for a second.

Calico: Believe it. It's all rendered in TG2, no joke there. The node network view(r wallmap) and the main program view(l wallmap) are both screenshots of the actual project file that you're looking at.

I don't know how to convince you that it's a real TG2 project other than to say it again. The only things not done in TG2 were:

  • The node models, I built them in Carrara. They were individually imported into TG via obj loaders, some are tgo'd already, not all of them yet, though. They were all positioned and arranged in TG2.
  • The 2 screenshots were taken in an app' called MWSnap. All it does is take screen captures.

The screenshots of the project were applied to TG plane objects to make the 3D-TG2-box that the scene is inside, I'd add the .tgd here but without all the node objects it would give you many errors.

EDITED: Here's the very beginnings of the scene, Calico. You've even commented there. It was all TG rendered then, and still is now. http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=4889.0 The only real difference to those previews is the background.

Martin.
