Hi everyone.

I've been trying to figure out how to manually modify my terrain files in TG2, like adding deep cracks, rivers, etc. -- sort of engraving the terrain. I suspect that the easiest way of doing this would be by using/generating and importing heightfields..? Have any of you got any tips on how to use TG2-shaders for these and other similar tasks?

Thanks a bundle,

David.

Do some searches on cracks and rivers.  Negative displacements, when used correctly can do a lot.  Functions can be used and I seem to remember someone recently uploaded something with voronoi cracks...a TGD or a TGC.  Check the File section, too.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

That night have been me, if this is what you are thinking of:

Very basic function (Voroni), based mud cracks.

This is a better example of using Voronoi to add deep cracks to rock:

There are plenty of other examples so as calico says do some hunting around.

Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast.
