There is quite a bit that could be improved here (better trees for one) but this is what I've got. Postworked in Photoshop and Paint.net.

I like this one. I reckon the DOF might look better if the mountains in the back were a bit more visible. That way your focus is being drawn onto something. Nice work on the lighting. Could you possibly do a 1680x1050 version of the final render? It'd make a sweet desktop background.
Figured out how to do clicky signatures

Nothing wrong with a little post work.  Yea, this is fantastic.  The type of stuff I love to see...

I like the mood and the colors!
Really good work! ;D

Hey Stephen,

I agree with the others about the mood and colors. They look very pretty :)
However, I think you can do way better than this :) The DOF is very strong and artistic for sure, but there isn't any detail anymore.

The colours and lighting is very nice in this one. The DOF makes it look like a miniature model rather than a vast landscape.

Mohawk20

I like the colours and POV.
DOF blur could be a bit less strong for better effect, but it's a great start!
Howgh!

Love the colours and mood you have here so far.  How do you think changing the fog to be patchier in longer wispy strips traveling along the valley would turn out?  Something sort of like this (sorry I don't have any better pictures from an above angle to explain):

Cool art nvseal.  I liked the smaller version, since the blur isn't as strong.  But, your colors are awesome.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Thanks for the comments. I agree that the DOF is too strong. The main reason I used it is was to hide some of the lack of detail in my tree models (I need xFrog to hurry up with some cheeper tgo's), I'll try to fix that in the next version. RArcher, I like the images and think that would be a great idea. When I get back to my computer I'll see what I can do about adding some fog like that.

I remember watching a matte painting video from one of the greats, and they stated that detail can actually kill realism in certain ways, if done incorrectly.  The DOF on this image may be a bit too strong, but even left as it is, this image looks fantastic in my opinion.
