limits of unregistered version?

Hi.  I've explored the program to death, cranked everything I can find up, read the manual, scanned the forums.  Still can't get my answer, which is:
How do improve the quad count in my renderings?  I'm using the free version because I really only need a simple sky/sun/clouds and I'm running a no-budget operation here.  I can live with the rendering resolution limit of T09, but my clouds and sky have a terribly coarse tiling effect that seems completely useless for anything but learning.  Is this a limit of the unregistered version?

I really wish companies would release FULLY-enabled demos so that I can tell whether I am going to get my money's worth.  I've already wasted the purchase price on another program that did not fulfill my expectations of performance over the demo.  :(
thanks,

PG

Could you post a render of the tiled atmosphere? It shouldn't be doing that so there may be some issues with rendering GI for your particular render.
As far as free vs registered. The only thing that you don't have is an "unlimited" resolution, populations are capped at 3 I think and the other render settings are capped, e.g. detail is capped to 1, AA is capped at 3, etc. The program itself is fully enabled with the exception of those I mentioned. The render engine is the same so the problem you're having is an issue that can be addressed.
If you have the money at some point soon I would recommend buying TG2 before the price goes up. The extra resolution capability is great.
Figured out how to do clicky signatures

I am pretty sure he's refering to 0.9, not TG2..

that being said, still, the limit should be the resolution limit, and the size limit on how large a terrain you can create..

Hard to tell without a picture, but my guess is the Detail slider under the preview is in the middle position and not all the way to the right.

Aha, the comment about the detail slider was on the money.  I jacked it up once and the preview was so slow I kept it in the middle, thinking it was only a "preview" setting.    ::)
thanks!
BTW, what is the detail limit for the registered version?

A what? Limit? Never heard of that...  :P ;D
Just render away! Add a few zeros to the render size and see where your PC overheats. That's your limit right there. ;)
Howgh!
