Dynamic Architecture

I don't think anyone posted this. It's a really cool concept, even from a 3d modeling point of view. It's called the Dynamic Tower, each floor (except the ground obviously) rotates at a different speed producing the effect you see on the website intro. There's going to be one in Moscow and one in Dubai. The one in Dubai I can probably see being completed but I don't see the one in Moscow seeing the light of day in this market. Even the Dubai one I don't see being finished by 2010 as they suggest. I've already reserved a spot though so when it is completed. One other thing I thought I'd point out that I find curious. It's entirely self sufficient, powered by wind turbines and solar panels...but each floor rotates, surely the energy produced by that, converted via turbines, could make each floor self sufficient.

That would be a perpetuum mobilé. But since the rotating of the floors costs power, and the power generated would always be less, you have a leak, so you need extra power from those horizontal wind turbines. So that's why the floors can't sustain themselves, but the building can...
