Well this was inspired by FrankB's post, took 32+ hours to render. You can just about see the rays but they're so soft, almost invisable. The mist is a Cloud layer at camera height with Ray Trace Shadows enabled, this is why it took so long. More of a proof of concept realy but C & C vert welcome.

Nice rays. Try increasing exposure and contrast in a next render, maybe that will help...

Very atmospheric and lush. The ground cover is also v. nice. Where did you get those models?

RArcher

Very nice Richard.  I think the problem is that you didn't push your lighting quite far enough.  I've taken a few liberties with your image but if you saved the .exr version you will be able to do a much better job than this.

I like the atmosphere and the foreground tree.  Good work.  Keep at it until you're satisfied.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

cyphyr

Well sometimes it really don't work. >:(
Only three trees, one mist layer render settings as below, any ideas what happened?

If that's not a manipulated screen shot, I'd say there's something really funny going on with your system ;-)
Or maybe it's just because you have entered a wormhole and now you're ahead of time. But then, I wouldn't be able to see your message now. Weird ;D

FrankB

The line in the left bottom corner of the image without the sky and all... looks as if you're under the terrain slightly?

Mohawk20

That's more than a year non-stop...
Howgh!

cyphyr

Yeah but I only fired it up this morning, hmm starting to think its time for a re-install.

Yes, I'm guessing you're under the terrain...
