Mohawk, you definitely shouldn't be seeing dramatic render time increases. Can you test and verify two *identical* frames with the different versions, or send us a TGD so we can test on our end?

I'll render those earlier frames again tomorrow, but take a look at below screen shot of Windows Explorer info. Look at the times the frames were finished and saved. between 2176 and 2177 I reinstalled, so the time between those is off, but this animation is just an incredibly slow camera move in orbit. So in 2400 frames the camera moves so the planet gets close and centered. In total on screen the difference would be less than a 4 centimetres in size and position. The only thing that changes is the atmo colour.

So all the frames listed below are practically identical...

I attached the tgd as well.
I saved when I quit, installed the update, and loaded the file. I Changed nothing except the starting frame.
Howgh!

Just ran the Latest benchmark scene from Oshyan with the final release and..........

With the Beta-->  0h 21m 6s   Intel Core 2 Duo - E8400 (2 cores)  3GHz  1 CPU  8 Gig ram    Windows XP 64 SP 2

With the Final Release--> 0h 21m 51s     Intel Core 2 Duo - E8400 (2 cores)   3GHz  1 CPU  8 Gig ram    Windows XP 64 SP 2

Did you save your keyfile, or do you still have the email from John? If so try copying the keyfile (or downloading and saving the keyfile) to the new Terragen 2 folder then start it up.
Figured out how to do clicky signatures

guessing you didn't find it?

do you not keep emails? thats why i <3 gmail, i dont delete anything at all so that way when these things occur i can quickly regain something lost.  i often backup very important data onto gmail because i know they are more crazy about data then me ;) mostly just documents like resume and such i just keep updated sent to myself just incase total meltdowns.

A couple minutes faster on the benchmark for me.  14:14 with the TG2 Final.  16:23 with the beta.

A small improvement to the performance of multi-threaded rendering.

This is really is just a small improvement. IIRC it was about a 10% increase on a default scene but as scenes get more complex the increase diminishes. I think you would reach a point when there wouldn't be any difference.

Nice shaved nearly 10 minutes off.
