It would be really helpful to be able to specify which render node to use and independently specify which camera to use.  Because I'm working on a project where my boss wanted two cameras at two different render qualities each.  So I ended up having to save out 4 different files in order to accomplish this.  If anything changed in the master file, I had to remember which settings to restore and then save it back out. It just became a bear to keep track of everything.  It would be much simpler to deal with if these settings were exposed to the command line.

Also I found that if an -ox is not specified and one is still specified in the render node.  It will save one out.  If an -ox is not specified in a job submitted from the command line, it should not be saved.

I'm still working with Preview version...so if something has changed in the final version let me know.

Whats -ox?

The tog files are just text files (xml actually I think) and its ridiculously easy to edit them in a text editor. If you just delete or comment out unwanted renderers and cameras you could easily work on one master file with 4 cameras in it.

Dose that help? :)

That depends...what's a tog file?

-ox = output extra.  Used to output alpha's and things.

The whole point of submitting to a network render manager is that you don't want to edit the file manually inbetween saving the file, and submitting it to the network render manager.

Also, the network Render Manager calls the file at render time. Hence, if you edited it, then only the changes made before the last save would be included. So the only solutions are to make 4 separate files, and submit them all, or be able to pass variables to the Network Render Manager, telling it which camera to render, etc...
