I have a layer of sand with a power fractal as the colour function. If I add a child layer, will the colour function also be applied to it?

Good question.  I don't think so, but this would be a good Oshyan question.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

If I understand you correctly (you are talking about the surface layer?) any colors in the child layers should override the surface layer colors and be placed on top of them.

dwilson

The colors from the child layer will override the color function, but if the child layer has less than a corverage of 1, then part of the base color function will be visible.  If the child layer is a power fractal you can just "apply high color" only and it will work the same way

Yes.  Unless, like dwilson mentioned, you change percentages of the Child / Surface Layers mix in some way.

Anyone else loose there real time picture window when doing power fractals? I have to leave the fractal setting and go back in to see it update.

I had this problem in the Beta, but haven't seen it yet in the Release version.  I'll check.
