Sorry for the delay, but the latest version is taking a lot longer to render than I thought it would, but I think the results may be worth the wait.

It's finally done! I am really happy how the rays came out in this version...though I need to find a way to cut down on render time. The atmosphere grain problem was absurd, even with 300 atmo samples I had to bump the overall detail up to 1.3 to make the rays grain free...maybe I need to could go with a better AA filter sine I forgot to change that away from the default "box" setting. I think I want to move the camera closer to the light portions of the terrain and in doing so cut down on the band of dark forest on the bottom of the image. Any comments/critiques/suggestions are very much appreciated :)

I hear a choir of angels.

Now press random seed on the clouds and do that again. ;D

Thanks ;D
@ Hetzen: sounds like a fun little challenge to me, I will probably do that one I've milked all I can out of this shot  :)

Yes, you are setting a new standard for rays in TG2.

darthvader

Thanks! I have another version rendering now, same clouds but the sun has been moved and the trees have been improved so it should be a better image.

darthvader

Here is the next one, a bit more desktop wallpaper friendly than the last version. It uses the same cloud seed as the pervious image although I changed around the sun's elevation and position to get different rays. I like the trees in this one although they still seem flat to me (especially the fir trees). I think I like the wider format better so I may switch back to that. All comments, critiques, or suggestions are always appreciated.
