Is there any Terragen 2 used in the recent Star Trek movie? I've seen it over the weekend and I thought that quite a bit could have been made with Terragen 2.
Great movie, by the way.

I heard someone say it had. Not seen the film yet, but saw the half hour special. The canyon and vulcan looked very TG. Maybe some of the planet stuff too. Great news for PS if it has been.

Tangled-Universe

Loved that movie too!
Especially the canyon looked quite TG-ish, even the clouds could have been done with TG2.
Maybe someone of the staff knows???

I haven't heard anything about it, unfortunately. But I hope you're right. ;D

P.S. Digital Domain worked on it, so it's possible some "Engen" stuff made it in there. But it looks like ILM did a lot of the heavy lifting...

Hopefully, ILM will pay attention to the advances within TG2.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

There was an old issue of Cinefx Magazine i was reading about the film Star Trek Generations were to make one of the planet space shots the effects department used photographs of acid washed copper sheets that were mapped over a 3d sphere, not that anyone uses the same technique today as most are digital matte paintings/3d tracking composites and photo textures layered over 3d planet meshes but an interesting article all the same.
