wip, tinkering with a previous world...I will tinker some more and keep you updated! thanks for taking time to view/comment/critique etc as these are always welcome and appreciated!

Nice terraces - almost looks sculpted.

I don't know how you do this stuff with stratas, man, but you always do it well. Great rock!

If you tinker-on, tinker with the wee rock at the lower right. Like tinker/remove it. ;) It's a different colour for some reason.

Or maybe it's just closer than I imagine, or reflective? I can't make up my mind.

This ground is really interesting, I find it very natural!
The trees less better are successful, they seem “to pose” on the rock. Strange aspect!

Superb terrain formations - I still have soooo muchto learn about using displacement shaders :)

I really like this image. I commented on it on Flickr. I wish I knew how you do your displacements. They are fantastic!
I still think it looks a little like the Watergate Hotel. ;)

Yeh, that led to a pretty memorable displacement  ;D

Re a comment I seen at ReRo (from Pat I think) about the inclusion of a diver. I like that idea. I remember Joel posted a great render here with a guy diving off a rock. So, you gotta pan the camera left to get to the edge of the cliff, zoom in a bit, and bung that diver in, so to speak. Don't mind me, I'm just rambling on . . . . . as I do . . . . ad nauseum.

I hope I realise I don't exist before I apparently die.

these could give you an insight as to how it was done....fundamentally its the same technique, using large scale voronoi, and power fractals and redirect shaders (in the terrain tab)these form the main structures of the displacements....
thanks for the comments so far folks...like I said, I am enjoying tinkering with this world, and will keep you updated!:)

Thanks! I bookmarked the first topic link and downloaded the second. I think your techniques will help.
