comment please ....

Nice start!
I would work on the wind patch effect in the water shader to add/increase variation ;)

aymenk2003

New render with atmo haze of 0.5
Roughness 0.05
wave scale 10
Smallest scale 0.1

Wind patch effect :3
Wind patch size : 100
W P sharpness :3

Try changing the water shaders specular settings. Lower the specular a lot, then make the min. highlight spread larger. The highlight on the water looks like snow to me.

Much better to my taste :)
Now I would also tweak the values in the "Reflections" tab. I suggest to decrease both "Master reflectivity" and "Highlight intensity". Maybe increasing a bit "Min Highlight spread" would also help! The water will appear more clear!

EDIT: njeneb, you are right about the "snow"!

Open the water shader window. Go to the Reflections Tab. At the bottom are two sliders. One is for Highlight Intensity, default 0.5. The second is for the Min. Highlight Spread, default 0.01.

The water shader window is accessed by the Surface shaders Tab by using the little box to the right of the input.

Looks a lot better to me. The fake stones may need some work. Try increasing the pancake effect.

the difference a POV makes the last image looks really nice.

During my work with terragen (0.9 & 2.xx) I noticed that choosing the position of the camera is really a hard thing ...
I 've got that last one by 'enchantement'

Camera location is pretty random. I let the preview update from a high observation point of view. If something looks like it has the potential for the scene I want, then I zoom in. Next I set the camera and do a quick, small render. The terrain get altered to make things look more interesting. Then I start doing my surface shading. Atmosphere, and objects.
When I look at other peoples images, I like to guess what the landscape looks like 'plain', without shaders and objects. Most of the really good images, at the start, are pretty boring looking.
