Here an other render that can be commented ...
Detail 0.7

I'm not satisfied by the render quality...

What specifically aren't you satisfied with? Is it not detailed enough? Too sharp? Then people could give advice. To my eye, the water looks great, and the right foreground rock texture is also nice, but maybe the overall rock texture could use some colour variation - but these aren't really connected with the render quality, but the nature of the scene.

Henry Blewer

Yea, I like the water also. I would add more lateral displacement on the cliffs. Maybe some large fake stones for fallen rock in the water. The clouds need to be made a little more interesting, but I do like the line of high clouds in the distance.

The simple solution is then in the renderer to change your Pixel filter to Cubic B-spline.

aymenk2003

thank domdib I'll try that...

5 anti-aliasing samples per pixel must not be enough. Try turning it much higher (20 for example), or as high as you can bear. And yes, use a wide pixel filter like the cubic b-spline ones.

domdib

Insquall, have you read the advice on render settings, stickied on the Terragen 2 Discussion? If you had, you'd know that AA 20 is excessive.

Henry Blewer

The b-spline will probably be fine. I use the free version. Only recently have I been producing images which need more than 3 AA samples.

very nice looking water ! the light is good too.
maybe you could add some more colour variation to the ground (did you try to reduce the lead-in scale of the powerfractal ?)
