any comments...

I like the texturing on the rock wall, although the angle of the sun makes the rock-face on the left side of the image seem flat due to a lack of shadows.

I like the displacements very much but the thing that makes this image look a little 'hollow' is the lighting IMO.

Try setting the Red Sky Decay a little higher and lowering the angle of the sun - maybe even bring the sun into the corner of the POV - it should add some depth to this work...

May I ask if you based this on an old project file, or one that you got from somebody else? The reason I ask is that I see some parallel lines in the water. Make sure that you enable "microvertex jitter" in the renderer if you are working from old project files.

Microvertex jitter has been enabled in the default project for quite some time, so the reuse of old projects is the only reason I can think of for why I keep seeing this problem.

Just because milk is white doesn't mean that clouds are made of milk.

Very similar to something I did in orig Terragen, almost identical in fact, weird how two people can come up with the same concept/pov. I got some horrendous parallel lines on water on that one as well

Much Better :) I really like the water in the latest one, also the shadows give the wall a lot more depth. What were your GI settings? I'd say increasing them to something like 1/3 to try and get more detail in the shadows. Overal this is coming along very well.

The last is really much better. I would put some strata into int terrain section. The strata could use large layering there.
