Hi all!

Man, I am LOVING T2 and was going to be buying the full version in the next week or so and I was curious about Xfrogs plants, trees etc.

Are they only compatible with Windows? I am using a G5 Mac (not the intel machine unfortunately) and I was thinking that Xfrog was Windows based only. Anyways, thanks for any help. I would love to buy a bunch of trees, grass, plants and stuff when I get the full version of T2 but not sure if it will work or not. If Xfrog is NOT compatible with my older Mac, any suggestions? Other than buying a new intel Mac lol! I plan on doing that sometime next year though.

Thanks for any help!

You can use the xfrog plants, just not the xfrog software that makes them.  The software that makes the plants is windows only, but terragen itself is able to understand the file formats that it outputs windows or mac.

So you can't make/edit them on your mac, but you can import and use them inside your scenes.

Great! Thanks for the help! So, my next question is- can I buy pre-made stuff in the correct format from Planetside or Xfrog? Like, some different libraries?

Thanks again for the help!

batzilla

I see on Xfrogs website that I can purchase a bundle in TGO format. So, I am assuming that this is what I can use on my G5 Mac? That sure would be awesome. It says it has all 22 libraries. WOW!

Yep terragen can open up .tgo and .obj's great.

And yes planetside and xfrog have the pack you can purchase where you get both terragen and all xfrog's libraries.

neuspadrin - thank you so much for the help! I really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction. Hopefully I can return the favor someday!

Before you choose which bundle to buy it may be worth checking if it is possible to run the Xfrog software on the Mac under emulation of some kind.  It is mentioned that this is possible on the Greenworks web site, sorry I am Windows based so can't offer any actual help.
Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast.

Hi batzilla,

I'm responsible for TG2 Mac. Although others have already said so, the Xfrog plant models in both OBJ and TGO format will all work fine with the Mac version.
