Aborted this render because I had no patience anymore and thought this could need some improvement.
Took 11 hours to render: detail 1, AA 6 and GI 2/2. Atmo samples were 80 and all the cloudlayers have a quality of 1.2.
The render-cache artifacts are obvious and the light drop-off is something which needs improvement, though I masked it a bit in post.

The main cloudlayer is from Stephen (nvseal) and the big cumulusses are from Frank.
Once I have sorted this out the way I like I might think of rendering it for print, since I have nothing at my wall yet.

Cheers,
Martin

Hi

It's just beautiful!

Nice, I like it... reminds me of looking out a plane window.
I just need to tweak that texture a bit more...

Awesome! I'm definately getting nvseals's packages when they are available on NWDA.

Martin,  Really like the soft puffy clouds, but the big dense ones just aren't working for me.  I think they are just too packed together.

Thanks, indeed! I'm trying to get just some cumulusses here and there but that's pretty hard because reducing the coverage of the fractal greatly affects the cloudshapes and also blending the fractal with another one gives strange edges. Perhaps I have to use a couple of distance-shaders, but for the moment I'll try something procedural.

I am always amazed reading these threads. Everyone pushes their skill levels; trying out new methods. I am also amazed by the results. 8)

Very good, TU.  Looks real, like from an airplane.  Excellent lighting.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

To me, the cumuluses look significantly greyer than the other cloud layer - I would crank up the white a little.

I reduced the fake internal scattering a bit in the cumuluses so I might increase it again.
The values for the fractal as you refer to as the white are the same as the other cloudlayers.
This way with the right settings I can get perfectly matched lighting.
You spotted correctly that this needs some more work.

While I agree with Ryan mostly on this, still pretty impressive to look at.

looking promising Martin, though the Cumuli, need some spacing!

Hmm, must be something wrong with me. I like it the way it is and can't see any cache artifacts. ;D
