Hey,

Yes it's me again with another question :)

So i bought the Snow Pack as i'm loving the effect's it's having on some of your pictures. I tried experimenting with the snow pack on the most basic terrain (it's just a flat terrain) but I can't seem to get it to appear.

What I did was clicked Shaders > Base Colours > Clicked the + next to the 'Blend By Shader' check box and selected Thick_Snow_1. I've tried changing altitude's etc but no effect. Im missing something, little help :P

thanks for support again,

Hi Hydrax,

Can you send me your .tgd you're working on so I can see what you are doing and how?
At the moment it is not very clear to me what you did.

You can find my e-mail in my profile.

Thanks,
Martin

Basically I opened terragen and straight away wanted to apply the snow pack, everything is the same as if you opened a new file in terragen. No hills etc, just a flat terrain which im trying to put the snow on.

Think I explained it correct :P

I haven't looked at the NWDA snow pack but I'm pretty sure jujst plugging it into a blend shader wont do much, after all what are you blending ... ?
Try plugging it into the child layer a new surface layer. You'll have to do this manually via the node network window. Drag the node line from the bottom of the last shader in the snow pack group to the 3rd from right node input. (or right click on the third from right node input and select the relevant input from the assign shader menu.) I'm sure there's plenty of other ways of doing this but at least you'll be able to see something and get an idea of what to do next.

Ok, I discovered the heighth-constriction in the surface-layer node is set to a minumum of 300+ metres by default. Forgot to reset that :s
So that's the reason why it doesn't show up in a default scene.
