I'm building a new computer mainly for terragen i7core, ddr3 memory, 64bit etc. but I'm undecided about which graphics card to go for. Any recommendations?

If you've got the money then a GeForce GTX 295 is the best card on the consumer market. If that's a little too pricey for you then the GTX 260 or that ATI 4870 are good alternatives. You can get bother for about £100 or $160
Figured out how to do clicky signatures

My Radeon 1300 just failed a little while ago. The HD 4670 has been recommended. It's supposed to work well with my Dell E510. It can probably beat the 300x that came with the computer. :'(

edit: Does anyone have a cheese slicer? It would go nicely with my whine.

Funny... I haven't heard anyone over the age of fifteen use that one before... :P.

Note that a faster graphics card is not currently going to help in TG2 rendering or even much in UI performance. Any modern graphics card should give you good performance. Its CPU that will make the biggest impact, and Core i7 is the fastest thing you can get for TG2 at the moment.

I just hope it helps with the horrible contrast issue I am currently having. I also found a Dell monitor (alienware) with 50,000:1 contrast, 16.7 million color, and 2 ms response. This may be a winter solstice gift for myself.
